Women Entrepreneurs: Digital Learning for Social Start-Ups

The WEDSS project aims to empower women with fewer job opportunities and low income by equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to launch their own social enterprises. This goal will be achieved by strengthening the digital and educational capacities of adult educators who work directly with these women.

At the heart of the project is the belief that education and digital innovation can be powerful tools for inclusion and economic empowerment. By training educators to create and deliver inspiring digital content – including micro-lessons, short videos, and positive digital narratives – WEDSS supports women in becoming active changemakers in their communities.

What we do:

  • Train educators from Italy and Denmark to design engaging digital content on social entrepreneurship.

  • Develop a digital learning path made of 25 micro-lessons – co-created by trained educators – aimed at guiding women in starting their own social ventures.

  • Launch an open-access digital platform hosting these micro-lessons, freely available for adult educators and learners.

  • Involve 50 adult female learners from marginalized or low-income backgrounds in testing the learning path, ensuring its relevance and real-world value.

  • Organize local dissemination events in each partner country to share results and inspire further action.

Why it matters

WEDSS addresses two urgent needs:

  1. The digital upskilling of adult educators, especially in entrepreneurship education.

  2. The social and economic empowerment of women with fewer opportunities through self-employment and social innovation.

By focusing on social entrepreneurship, the project not only supports individual empowerment but also encourages the creation of enterprises that generate positive change in society.
