2nd TPM – MINEGAME Project

Second transnational partners meeting held in Rome

On 16 January 2026, the partners of the MINEGAME project gathered in Rome for the Second Transnational Partners Meeting, hosted by DRC. The meeting represented an important milestone for the consortium, providing an opportunity to review the project’s progress, assess ongoing activities, and coordinate the next implementation phases.

A central focus of the meeting was the advancement of the Minecraft-based videogame, which has now reached the internal testing stage. Partners participated in a dedicated training session and a supervised dry run led by the developer, allowing them to explore gameplay mechanics, esports scenarios, and STEM-related challenges. This hands-on session enabled the consortium to collect structured feedback and identify areas for refinement ahead of the school piloting phase.

The discussion also covered the development of supporting educational materials, including the Teacher’s Guide and the lesson plans linked to in-game tasks. Partners agreed on final deadlines for completing pending sections and launching translation activities to ensure accessibility in all participating countries.

External piloting phase

Particular attention was given to the organisation of the external piloting phase, scheduled to begin in March 2026. Each partner organisation will implement pilot activities involving students and teachers in real classroom settings. The piloting phase will play a crucial role in evaluating the educational impact, usability, and engagement potential of the MINEGAME approach, while also gathering evidence and feedback to further improve the final version of the game and materials.

In addition, partners discussed dissemination activities, including website updates, social media campaigns, and the development of the Mine Game Foundry — an interactive digital space that will host project materials and facilitate communication with users.

The Rome meeting once again demonstrated the strong collaboration and shared commitment of the MINEGAME consortium. With internal testing ongoing and school pilots approaching, the project continues to move steadily towards its goal: fostering student engagement in STEM through innovative, game-based learning experiences in Minecraft.
